Certificate IV in Competitive Systems and Practices

The MSS40316 Certificate IV in Competitive Systems and Practices specifies the competencies required to apply competitive systems and practices to one’s own work as well as, where required, to assist others to apply competitive systems and practices to their work. This qualification assumes that a learner has current or past work experience where operational or technical skills have already been gained and a supervisory or similar level of responsibility exists. For this reason, this qualification is not suitable for direct entry from school.

This qualification reflects the role of team leaders or those in similar job roles who are responsible for the implementation and monitoring of competitive systems and practices to improve efficiency in a team or work area and own work role. Individuals apply broad knowledge and analytical skills to facilitate change and improve efficiency.

The course is broken into twelve (12) Certificate IV Nationally accredited units of competency selected from the Sustainability Training Package. The units have been chosen specifically to encompass lean and continuous improvement principles to meet a visual management implementation process. There are four main clustering of units which include Visual Management including standard work, Problem Solving, Work Safely, Environmental Sustainability.

One year course delivery comprising of 48 weeks , with one session per week, totalling 48 sessions over 52 weeks (12 months). This takes into consideration holidays, peak business period and any other breaks.
